For this project, we were to design a magazine cover and spread for an existing article relating to a world issue. We explored different methods of photo manipulation in order to achieve this.

I chose a VOX Magazine article titled “The Reality of Social Media Addiction” that discusses the consequences of consuming copius amounts of media in today’s day and age.

Since consuming a lot of media can feel overwhelming, I wanted the spread to feel chaotic, colorful, and a bit disorderly. I used imagery of technology, brains, emotional expressions, and words to create the collage. In contrast to the spread, I wanted the cover to feel dark and isolating to reflect the lonliness of social media addiction.
